Soaring Tumbling Freewheeling

Hi, my name is Michelle :) I am a animation student who is just trying to draw and sing through life. Disney, Fairytales, Imagination, Art, Fun, and Happiness are pretty much my policies of life. Also, I love Jesus Christ with my whole heart!

I seriously doubt that any of these people have actually seen the movie. This movie addresses many forms of modern day racism through the eyes of a college campus. It was screened at my school on Monday and the producer (an LMU alumn!) said that one of her favorite characters was Kurt, the white guy who said that it is most difficult today to be an educated white man in the country. After the movie was screened dozens of students identified themselves with these characters and saw these issues everyday. It wasn’t just black students either, a chicano student said that completely identified with the characters in Dear White People and that she feels as if she always has to be an ambassador for her race. This movie takes on real issues and situations that minorities have to go through every day. Yes, it is told in a very stylized and humorous way, but it is based off of real things. Go watch Dear White People and have an open mind, then go and talk about it!

To ALL those artists out there who take commissions and sell their art of any type this is for you! If anyone ever tries to argue with your prices show them this! Take pride in your work! Never settle for anything less then what you believe to be a fair price for the efforts and passion you pour into your work.
YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Seconding this SO hard right now.
I’ve known of so many artists who were amazing but refused to charge the proper amount for their hard work. It’s a crime.

All commissioners must remember this when you commission someone!!

Few female characters get to be “the Chosen One” in science fiction and fantasy. Leia is as much the child of Darth Vader as Luke is, but only Luke gets to use the force, be recruited by his dad and ultimately save the day. We don’t get impossibly clever female sleuths or the sexy spies with the awesome gadgets. And on the rare occasions that we do get those characters, they’re denigrated as unrealistic Mary Sues.
